Can you help me find the best resources for my research paper?
Answer
We can help. Here are a few good ways to get started:
- Contact the librarian responsible for your particular subject or topic. The librarians are familiar with the best indexes and databases available for identifying relevant publications (books, journal articles, statistics, etc.) on your topic. The librarians are also experts on creating effective search strategies and connecting with other experts in the subject area.
- Use the Research Guides created by our own UH Mānoa librarians. Most fields of study already have an updated Research Guide available that can be a great starting point for learning about the most relevant databases, indexes, journals and books on your topic. Librarian contact information is also available on these helpful guides.
- Visit the Reference Desks in Hamilton Library. In-person reference assistance is available during regular service hours. Use the menu on the "Library Hours" page to find the service hours for each reference desk.
